How to Set Up

Open the Claude Desktop app. Go to Settings > Connectors, click Add, then choose Add custom connector.

Fill in the two fields:

  • Name: GemCommerce MCP
  • Server URL: https://mcp.gemcommerce.com

Click Add. Claude saves the connector and returns you to the connector list.

In the connector list, find GemCommerce MCP and click Connect.

On the MCP authentication screen, click Open GemPages Preference.

Select the store you want to connect. This opens that store's GemPages app at Preference > MCP.

Click Copy. This copies a prompt that contains a one-time passcode (OTP). Return to the Claude authentication screen and paste it in to finish connecting.

Open ChatGPT on the web and log in.

Go to Settings > Plugins.

If Developer Mode is off: go to Plugins > Developer Mode and toggle it on, then return to Plugins > Browse plugins.

Click Add custom.

Tick "I understand and want to continue." (you acknowledge that you understand what you are connecting to)

Click Create to save.

ChatGPT shows the new plugin with a Sign in button. Click Sign in. This opens the authentication screen — the same OTP flow as Claude (select store > copy prompt with OTP > paste back).

After authentication completes, switch to the ChatGPT desktop app to use GemCommerce MCP for the best experience.

Common questions about the our MCP.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You only need an HTML file. Paste it into the AI - the conversion is automatic.

What kind of HTML works best?

Clean, well-structured HTML converts most accurately. Deeply nested inline styles can reduce accuracy, but the AI handles most standard layouts well. Treat the result as a strong starting point and refine it in the editor.

What happens to product listings or collections in my HTML?

The AI will attempt to map them, but dynamic store elements aren't guaranteed to convert accurately - they depend on your specific store's data. Plan to reconnect them manually in the GemPages editor after conversion.

Can I convert multiple pages at once?

For best results, convert one page per conversation. Running multiple pages in a single prompt can reduce accuracy.

Which GemPages plans include access?

All GemPages plans, including the Free plan, include access. For stores on the Free plan, the publishing limit is one page, regardless of whether publishing is initiated via GemPages MCP or through the GemPages UI.

When will this be available to everyone?

Access is rolling out gradually. Joining the waitlist is the fastest way to get in.
